REAPN is the Portuguese national network of the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) that appeared in 1990. Since 1994 REAPN, driven by principles such as subsidiarity and partnership, started a process of decentralization through the creation of Regional Networks. These integrate a number of regional development centres (anti-poverty local networks) which work for poverty eradication in a local and regional basis. REAPN has nowadays more than 700 members (national, regional and local levels).
